Spotify offers music lovers even more choice with launch of two new products
On-demand music service Spotify is today launching two new levels of its service to give music fans even more ways to enjoy their favourite tunes.
Following last month’s launch of the next generation of Spotify, we’re looking to give music fans in the UK and across Europe even greater choice with the introduction of Spotify Unlimited and Spotify Open.
The all-new Spotify Unlimited will give round-the-clock, advertisement-free access to Spotify on the computer, all for only €4.99 per month. That’s over 8m+ tracks at your disposal, uninterrupted by ads, day and night.
Spotify Open will be a free, ad-supported version of Spotify, giving all new users instant access to our full music catalogue for 20 hours a month – equivalent to 25 albums or 300 tracks every month. Now there’s no need to wait for a Spotify invite!
The two new services are being introduced to complement our current Spotify Free and Spotify Premium offerings.
Spotify Free will continue to provide ad-supported music to our 7m+ users across Europe, with new users still able to sign up to the current Free service by obtaining one of the many millions of invites currently available.
Spotify Premium remains our top-tier product, offering the complete package of ad-free music, both online and offline, to your computer and mobile phone, together with enhanced sound quality and access to exclusive content, competitions and special offers.
Daniel Ek, CEO and founder of Spotify, says: “Up until today, new Spotify users have had two options – either subscribe to the full Spotify Premium experience or receive a Spotify Free invite from a friend.
“Following Spotify’s major upgrade, we wanted to give music fans new ways to enjoy the service. Now everyone who wants a great introduction to Spotify without an invite, or who wants to enjoy unlimited, ad-free music just on their computers, can do so.”
Last month Spotify introduced a number of exclusive new features allowing users to discover, share and manage their music more effectively. Upgrades included the ability to connect directly with Facebook friends as well as play all your music files in Spotify.
Spotify is an innovative digital music platform created with the vision of offering music fans a legal and superior quality user alternative to music piracy. Spotify provides instant access to whatever music you want, whenever and wherever you want it, through a simple, clean and quick to use platform whilst supporting the music industry via an ad-supported, free-to-the-user model and a paid subscription model. With access to millions of songs in high quality audio through your computer, on your mobile and beyond, Spotify makes it easier than ever to play and share music legally. http://www.spotify.com.
