As Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand, Kate heads up all aspects of the business at Spotify for the region, managing a team of seventeen (and growing) in Sydney.
With a strong head for business and unique flair for digital & search, Kate has enjoyed a hugely distinguished career spanning fourteen years in some of the most prestigious digital environments in the world.
Prior to joining Spotify, Kate was Google’s first regional hire as Head of Sales for Australia and New Zealand. Starting off in her lounge room, Kate built Google’s revenue from zero to become the largest digital business in Australia. Kate then moved to YouTube in 2009, where she built yet another team from scratch, working with the largest brand advertisers and agencies to launch the service, which is now one of the leading marketing channels in the digital space.
In November 2011, Kate joined Spotify to locally launch the world’s biggest and most successful music streaming service of its kind. Spotify launched in Australia & New Zealand at the end of May 2012 and has already cemented itself as the most exciting new digital music offering in the market.
Aside from being a music lover, gig goer and festival regular, Kate is a yoga fanatic, online shopaholic and devoted mother to Maggie and Charlie.
She loves nothing more than an action-packed day at the beach on Sydney’s northern beaches, where she calls home, and is also partial to a good drop of wine and a great meal.
