Stefan has managed all of Spotify’s sales activities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland since May 2012. Spotify has a unique position in the region as the only music streaming service offering a free, ad-supported and unlimited six-month trial period.
Stefan has many years of experience in display marketing, social media, music and entertainment and mobile internet, all of which are combined at Spotify. What online advertising was and what it’s capable of achieving – these are things that Stefan was able to influence as one of the field’s pioneers from the very beginning. Indeed, he’s been active in a number of different positions for online portals and media companies in Germany and Great Britain since 1999, including Sportgate, T-Online International, InteractiveMedia, MySpace and Madvertise.
At MySpace, where music and internet business also overlapped considerably, Stefan held similar responsibilities to the ones he now holds at Spotify. In May 2007, he led the development of a sales team for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He went on to market innovative web formats for the music and entertainment industry over the subsequent four years.
