Steve oversees the global label relations and content operations teams. In this role Steve manages Spotify’s day-to-day relationships with record labels and music publishers, directs all music content across the service, while also overseeing artist marketing and promotional activities.
Steve has worked in the music industry for nearly 20 years with a focus on innovating in the digital space. Prior to his role at Spotify, Steve served as Global Head of Digital for Domino Recording Co where he was tasked with securing licenses for the label’s renowned catalogue with leaders and innovators in the digital market, including Spotify.
Steve has also held senior digital roles at the Warner Music imprint Sire Records, where he started the new media department, and at Zomba Label Group. While at Zomba, Steve developed digital and mobile marketing campaigns for Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, R. Kelly, Chris Brown and many others.
Steve also spent several years on the Board of Directors of Merlin Network and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Music Business Association.
Steve is an accomplished musician in his own right and played drums for a London-based band in the 90s. His pursuit of rock stardom ended in ’93 following a tour with Radiohead, and a job opportunity from legendary A&R-man, Seymour Stein.
Though Steve never fully retired and continues to drum for Spotify’s New York based house band.
