Today we’re pleased to announce that CrowdAlbum has joined the Spotify team. The acquisition of CrowdAlbum will enhance the development of products that help artists understand, activate, and monetize their audiences.
Launched in 2013, CrowdAlbum aggregates photos and videos from artists’ performances. The albums give artists a visual history of their tours and help them identify and connect with their most passionate fans. The CrowdAlbum team shares Spotify’s passion for serving artists, working with over 1,000 artists and venue partners in the US.
“We’re working every day to find ways to tighten the connection between artists and their fans,” said Charlie Hellman, VP Product at Spotify. “The CrowdAlbum acquisition is the latest way Spotify is investing in helping artists find and engage their audiences on and off Spotify, especially around the ever important business of touring.”
CrowdAlbum will join a team at Spotify focused on building products for artists. Most recently, this team introduced Spotify Fan Insights to help artists better understand their Spotify listeners and Concerts to promote artists’ shows to relevant fans.
